Coach Emily

For Coach Emily, fitness is more than just a hobby, it's a career. In 2019 Coach Emily decided  to change careers and go into fitness after many years in corporate. Always active and in sports most of their young adult life, fitness felt like a natural transition, becoming a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, then a CrossFit Level 1 coach, and a Precision Nutrition Level 1 coach. Coach Emily absolutely loves helping people feel good about themselves. The moment someone is surprised by their own strength is incomparable and Coach Emily lives to empower others.

"My journey to a “healthy life” started about 6 years ago when I was at my heaviest weight, 306 pounds, and one day being honest to myself, I realized I was not comfortable with the person I had become. I took responsibility of my bad decisions and habits. I wanted a change before turning 40 years old, so I decided to join the gym and started to count my calories, cut sweets and junk food. I turned 40 years old and I lost 90 pounds and I couldn’t feel better about myself. But in 2023, I neglected myself again and I gained 35 pounds. On October 2023, my friend invited me to be part of CrossFit Mokena. Omg ! Soon, I fell in love with the place and its people; the atmosphere felt welcoming, encouraging and without judgments. Two months later, I signed up for nutrition coaching where I learned to balance and measure macros according to my goals, as well as healthy habits, such as drinking water when I wake up, sleeping early, chewing my food well, new recipes, and many more. It is not easy but with the help, guidance, patience and knowledge of the two excellent coaches, Christie and Emily, the challenge became easier. Every beginning of the week, the coaches check how you are doing and how they can help you achieve your goals.
